Manager, Product Marketing-Portables
North Sioux City, SD

Responsible for the development and implementation of Gateway 2000’s Marketing plans for the Portables product line. Also responsible for sustaining management of the assigned programs, projects and products. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, AND a minimum of five years of progressively responsible Sales, Marketing, or Engineering experience is required; OR, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A thorough understanding of the product life cycle process, and prior experience in writing marketing plans that include forecasting, pricing and margin calculations are preferred. Experience in generating promotions, writing marketing programs, and interfacing with top customers is preferred. Strong product marketing background in Portable computer platforms or a supporting role in a related field is a plus.

Gateway 2000, the nation's leading PC direct marketer, with $5+ billion in annual sales, has an immediate need for a Manager for our Publication Presentation Center. This center will be responsible for designing up to 200 bid-specific proposals for our Fortune 1000 clients per day! As our Publication Presentation Center Manager, you will formulate policy and process for the publication centers that reside within our Major Accounts. Your responsibilities will be to research, storyboard and design, and to direct, manage, hire, train, and review performance of both outside vendors and an internal staff of Artists and Writers for both print and electronic distribution of business collateral. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Art/Marketing and at least 10 years of hands-on experience for a Major Fortune 500 company (or an equivalent combination of education/experience). We need a fantastic designer with a good attitude, a computer dynamo fluent in Quark, Pagemaker, Illustrator, Powerpoint, Photoshop. Photography skills are a plus. Candidates will be asked to submit an art portfolio showcasing both the individual’s work as a senior graphic designer and a selection of managed/directed pieces.
